Welcome
Maura Brickman E-RYT 200+
Hi everyone! My name is Maura, and I am an experienced yoga instructor living in Avon, Colorado. I teach in-person group classes locally at several of the resorts and hotels around the Vail Valley and Beaver Creek ski resorts, and I am also available to teach private group or one on one yoga sessions upon request. I also have my own online yoga studio platform where you have the option to join 2 live stream classes with me per week, and/or take a class recording online as a member whenever the timing works best for you. My classes include detailed instruction of yoga poses, anatomy, and sequencing, and focus on creating balance and strength within the body as a whole as an attempt to relieve stress and feel better physically and mentally.
Yoga Styles
As a yoga instructor, I can teach a variety of different yoga styles depending on what you are interested in and what your personal needs might be. These include Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Yin Yoga, Prenatal Yoga, Yoga Medicine and Self-Myofascial Release Techniques.
I am currently working on my 500hr Yoga Medicine certification. Most of my classes stem from the knowledge that I have been learning specifically from these Yoga Medicine trainings with Tiffany Cruickshank, which focus on the anatomy and science behind the poses and sequencing as a way to support the body and mind as a whole. Rather than teaching you to push your body to create a shape that might not be the most supportive, my goal is to teach you to discover in your own yoga practice what techniques and poses will help you the most. By taking this particular approach to yoga, a student is able to adapt their practice to compliment their current activities and/or meet the demands of their life in order to feel more balanced and hopefully less stressed. As a Yoga Medicine instructor, while working one on one, my job is to help you find the yoga and meditation practices and techniques that will be most helpful to you and your specific needs, and to help you track your progress over time. In group classes, I integrate these Yoga Medicine techniques as a way to create a class that supports your general range of motion, balance, injury prevention and tissue durability.
